Join the rally in Baltimore to show support for the For the People Act.
It will be held in front of Senator Cardin's office.
The For the People Act, sponsored by Maryland's John Sarbanes, has passed the House of Representatives. If passed by the Senate, it will be a great step forward to restoring American democracy. The bill contains critical provisions to:
- Limit gerrymandering of Congressional districts
- Increase ethics requirements for candidates and officeholders
- Ban dark money and regulate PACs
- Create a system of public campaign financing with small-donor matching
- Promote access to the ballot, restrict voter suppression; and
- Improve election security.
We are acknowledging Senator Cardin's support for this bill, and asking him to fight hard within his caucus to promote the necessary rule changes and to keep sufficient unity to win.
We will be following CDC guidelines for social distancing and masks will be required.
