Poor People's Campaign
April 16 @ 2:29 pm EDT

Rent is exorbitant, maintenance is often non-existent, damage deposits often go unreturned, and Colorado laws offer little protection to Colorado renters. It doesn’t matter how many times, or via which format a landlord is asked to repair the broken garbage disposal, leaky toilet, or malfunctioning heat, there is a good possibility that the landlord will not make the repairs, and tenants are powerless. It is illegal in Colorado to withhold payment in order to obtain necessary repairs. We all know that this is BS, and many of us are working for change, but we’re not working together. Let’s start changing that. Join us for this Statewide Community Conversation where will brainstorm the immediate actions that we can take to house the unhoused, protect the housing insecure, and establish Housing as a Human Right across this state.

This Community Conversation and the Jericho Marchavan (https://www.facebook.com/events/1185727531825145/) today are dedicated to the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on whose shoulders we stand and whose fight for justice we continue.
