In conjunction with its Mass Moral Motorcade on Manchin on Thursday, the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival will hold an online media call Wednesday to provide details about the program.

The call, which will include the campaign co-chairs, Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II and Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis, will be held at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday. Reporters can register here. It also will be live-streamed here.

Other participants include representatives of the West Virginia Poor People’s Campaign, which invited the national campaign to have the COVID-safe motorcade, along with partners and moral leaders. They are demanding that Sen. Joe Manchin have the moral courage to end the coward’s filibuster, pass all provisions of the For the People Act, fully restore the 1965 Voting Rights Act and pass $15/hr federal minimum wage.

Failure to pass these provisions has put the infrastructure of democracy and the lives of tens of millions of low-income workers at risk. In West Virginia, 40% of people are poor or low-income.

Participation in the motorcade will be inside individuals’ cars and does not include being in a crowd or march.
