Poor People's Campaign
May 1 @ 6:43 pm EDT

Sadhana Satsanghs are Sadhana: Coalition of Progressive Hindus' monthly inclusive, egalitarian and earth-honoring worship gatherings. Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Sadhana feels it is important to nurture both the spirit and the bodies of their members by performing weekly e-Satsanghs every Thursday via Zoom.

In the past few weeks, we have been immersed in photos, videos, and articles about the powerful Black Lives Matter protests that have been sweeping the nation, which can be described as the Dharma-Yuddha (righteous war, or struggle) of our times. Many of us have joined these protests ourselves. We wanted to create a space for members of the Sadhana community to reflect on protest, activism, and any questions we may have.

We will begin with a short message from Pandit Sanjai Doobay of Shri Trimurti Bhavan Mandir. Sadhana's Pandita-in-Residence, Pratima Doobay, will then ground us with a short prayer and reflection. We will then hear from Dr. Adam Barnes, Co-Coordinator of the National Faith Partners Team for the Poor People's Campaign: A National Call for a Moral Revival.

Finally, we will have time for a group discussion around the experience of protest, the principle of ahimsa (nonviolence), our role as allies, and our duty to join this dharma-yuddha.

We hope you can join us! Stay tuned for another Satsangh on dismantling anti-Blackness in Hindu communities on June 18th.
