Protect our Homes Day is Renters United Maryland's lobby night for the 2021 Maryland General Assembly session. We will be hosting a prep session with attendees from 6:00 to 7:00 PM and then from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, we will hear stories from Marylanders about housing instability before and during the pandemic, and learn about how RUM's Housing Justice legislative package can help. From 8:00 to 9:00 PM, we will divide up into breakout rooms by county so you can meet with your state legislators to ask them questions and encourage them to support this critical legislation.
Renters United Maryland's Housing Justice Package consists of five bills to address emergency eviction prevention, emergency foreclosure prevention, and an overhaul of the rent court system in Maryland.
