West Virginia pastors, miners and other workers hold a news conference demanding that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer hold a vote on voting rights and the Build Back Better plan. Also joining the news conference will be the co-chairs of the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival, Bishop William J. Barber II and Rev. Dr. Liz Theoharis. The news conference is being held on the anniversary of the ratification of the 15th amendment, which made it unconstitutional to deny or abridge a person’s right to vote.
